The Nexus Gate reconstruction project has been halted due to squabbling among the allied species. The primary disagreement is centered around how much each species should contribute to the reconstruction of the Nexus facility.

While the gate remains open to limited military traffic, other uses have been halted causing shortages of many necessities as well as luxury goods.

Piracy and smuggling is now a major concern for all systems outside of normal jump ranges of Nexus.
